When Local Leicester sewist, Marie of Stitch Odyssey created a fantastic video tutorial for a 3D mask which was comfortable, easy to make and a brilliant scrap-buster, Freya and I were quick to whip up a few for ourselves, family and friends.

My mum prefers printed templates/ patterns so I made a digital template and wrote out the instructions for it for her.

Then Marie got a quite a few requests for the template and different sizes so I thought it would be great to share it with you all (with Marie’s permission) to help you all stay safe and carry on crafting! So here you can download the PDF pattern and instructions for the regular and large size mask:

The design is great for using up scraps and you can use virtually any light to medium weight cotton – cotton lawn, cotton poplin, quilting cotton etc. You can get quite a few out of a pack of fat quarters!

We’d love to see any masks you make! So please share pictures with us @craftysewandso on Instagram or Facebook.

Happy Sewing!  Sarah x
