Hey, I’m very excited to share the finishing touches to my Clare coat and the grand reveal with you today!

I completed the lining in no time! Sewing stable woven cotton after wool is such a treat!

I've made one small change to the coat as I was sewing it up. I felt the collar was just a bit too tall for me so I cut it down by 1 inch from the top line and I’m really happy with where it sits now.  It's always worth adjusting a pattern if you know it'll make a difference to how you feel about the garment. You'll probably get a lot more wear from it if you make it just right for you.

I opted for 1 single bound button hole with a supersized feature button on the collar and sewed in large metal poppers to the rest of the front closure.  This is actually not a button!  I made my feature button from a vintage clock face I found in an antique shop and used a small button to attach it!  I've had so many compliments on it, I’m very happy with this unique design feature!

What do you think of my my lining?!  I went with the Liberty Print lining for the body and it makes me happy every time I see it.

The pockets are nice and deep in the Clare coat and in just the right place!

Now I just need to add a Pink Coat Club pin as the finish touch!
