We're so pleased to announce that Crafty Camp is going to be running in Summer 2021!

After having to postpone our sewing retreat last year due to the pandemic,  we're very excited to say we are able to run the camp this year!*

*government guidelines permitting

July 30th - August 1st 2021 at Beaumanor Hall, Leicestershire

You want more details? Well, we are planning a super exciting sewing event for 2021 and we'd love you to join us!   The Crafty Sewing Camp is a three-day event where guests will get the opportunity to re-live the classic school camp experience while immersing themselves in a friendly, supportive social and learning experience.

What will we do?

The main focus will be on sewing, with free-sewing time throughout the weekend in well-equipped sewing rooms.  You will need to bring your own sewing machine, but we will provide a overlocker and an ironing board in each sewing room for everyone to share.

You will be able to book in to one of the short workshops we'll put on over the weekend, to upgrade your skills or try something new.

We're also planning to have a bonfire evening, meals together, lots of free time to sew or explore the estate.

Where will we stay?

We're staying in the grounds of Beaumanor Hall, a beautiful Victorian House in the Leicestershire Countryside.  The accommodation on site will be in dorm-style bunks which we hope will help foster a sense of community and keep camp affordable for all sewists.  There are a limited number of private rooms for up to two people to share too.

There is also the option to buy a day ticket, so you could stay locally or drive to the event each day!  Free parking is available on site.

One of the dorm buildings is wheelchair accessible, including a ramp, accessible toilet and shower facilities. If you need to sleep in that dorm, please let us know and we'll make sure you're accommodated.   Please contact us for any further details you need.

Is it Covid-Secure?

The government is aiming to have offered all adults in the UK their vaccine by 31st July, which suits us perfectly!  Because of this we're expecting the risks of contracting Covid to be low enough to run the weekend getaway.

HOWEVER, we are conducting a full risk assessment for the event and will still implement appropriate hygiene and social distancing measures, including frequent handwashing and sanitiser available at all touch points over the weekend.

To help us create a fun and safe event, we will ask that all attendees take a lateral flow test before arriving.  This is not mandatory but would go a long way to allow everyone to relax and enjoy their weekend.
