 We’re Changing It Up!

After 5 years in our lovely sewing shop in the heart of Leicester, and a short stay at Churchgate Artists Studio, we are moving to an exciting new, permanent studio space at The Makers Yard! After everything that's changed this year, we're really happy to have found a new home where we can settle and continue to grow our shop.

The Makers Yard is a heritage building, which has a fantastic history, built in the 1850s, it was a hosiery factory for decades before being turned into artist studios.  The space is home to 18 other artists and makers, from embroidery and millanary, to framemakers and resin artists.

In Person Workshops and Open Days!

Although we will still not be opening as an open-door shop, we're really excited to be able to welcome you back through our doors in our in-person workshops from July (fingers crossed!) and open days from May!  The Makers Yard runs open days regularly, and we are planning on having an open weekend every month to welcome you to the studio and help you shop for your next project.

These days will be ticketed to maintain social distancing and allow everyone to have some relaxed time to browse and chat through your sewing plans.  We can't wait!

One thing we can't wait to run again is Sew Leicester!  Dates still tbc, but I hope we can get together, grab lunch and check out all the local fabric shops in Leicester.  These get togethers are always so much fun, and we've missed them so much!  If you've never been, you must come along next time.  I hope to plan the first post-lockdown Sew Leicester in the summer.
