Come and learn how to turn all your scrap fabrics into beautiful rag rug makes!

Rag rugging is an easy craft to get into - it requires no previous experience and is a fantastic way to use up fabric scraps and give clothes which are past their best a new lease of life.

Run by our rag rug expert tutor, Kim (who was trained by Elspeth from Ragged Life) this full day workshop is designed to give you all the skills you need to be able to create rag rug projects.

With plenty of 1-2-1 help throughout the day you will learn how to use the rag rug equipment, how to work with the hessian, how to choose and prepare materials, how to design your rag rug, how to do the three different types of British rag rugging (loopy,  shaggy and short shaggy) and how to finish your work.

During the session, you will get the opportunity to begin a cushion or small rug - depending on how ambitious you’re feeling!

We ask that you bring a packed lunch with you but all the rag rug materials are provided on the day.

Our classes are friendly and informal and involve plenty of tea and biscuits. This is a great way to dip your toe into rag rugging and meet some like-minded people.
