Run by our rag rug expert tutor, Kim (who was trained by Elspeth from Ragged Life) this full day workshop is designed to give you all the skills you need to be able to start any rag rug project for yourself at home. Rag rugging is an easy craft to get into - it requires no previous experience and is a fantastic way to use up fabric scraps and give clothes which are past their best a new lease of life.
In this workshop, you will learn all the rag rug basics – how to use the tools, how to select and prepare materials and how to do the three types of rag rugging (loopy, shaggy and short shaggy) and start working on your Christmas Wreath. We will provide all the materials you need on the day (and we'll give you a latch hook to take home).
Our classes are friendly and informal and involve plenty of tea and biscuits. This is a great way to dip your toe into rag rugging and meet some like-minded people.
What you will learn:- How to use a latch hook and a spring hook.
- How to create different effects with rag rugging.
