Following current guidance regarding the COVID-19 Coronavirus, we want to let you know what we are doing to prevent the spread and keep everyone healthy.
We've moved out of our retail premises in St.Martins Square to a new studio space in the city centre. You can buy all our products from our online shop. We're now only open for customers to shop on our open days and for in-person workshops/lessons with reduced capacity in-line with government guidance.
The rest of the month we are closed to the public.
Please see How we plan to keep you safe in the Crafty Sew & So Studio below.
Online orders are being processed three times a week from the studio by our small team. We normally post out with the Royal Mail, and delays are still possible due to high demand. You can choose to upgrade to first class delivery, or collect from the studio in the city centre if you prefer.
Collection is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
We are running Live Online Workshops via Zoom. Live online workshops are accessible to anyone who has an internet connection and a sewing machine at home. We provide the materials for the project and our tutor is there, live on your screen, to help every step of the way. You can find more information here - https://craftysewandso.com/pages/live-online-workshops
We have received great feedback about these and will be continuing to run online workshops in the future.
We have put a lot of thought into how best to host in-person workshops going forward. Due to our recent move to a new studio, we are no longer a Brother sewing machines dealer but we have decided to partner with Janome and have some fantastic rental workshop machines which you are invited to use or you are welcome to bring your own machine for most workshops.
We are offering a small selection of sewcial sewing days and beginners sewing sessions. Take a look at all our workshops options here
How we plan to keep you safe in the Crafty Sew & So Studio:
It is really hard to stay 2 metres away from each other in our studio space, so we will all need to wear masks when we are moving around. We will not need to wear them when we are seated at our sewing machines or when eating and drinking.
If you would prefer not to wear a mask in the workshop, then an alternative option would be to take a lateral flow test before the class and show us your negative result (a photo of a test would be fine).
Staff will be taking the same precautions - either wearing a face mask or taking a lateral flow test before the session.
Other Covid-secure measures in the studio:
- Clean touch points regularly
- Clean all shared equipment before you arrive and throughout the day
We ask everyone (staff and visitors) to:
- Wash your hands regularly including every time you go to the bathroom, eat and drink or cough or sneeze.
- Clean surfaces and your machine and equipment using the wipes provided.
- Use hand sanitiser before using shared equipment including overlockers and irons and use the wipes provided after use.
- Use your own tools and equipment, please do not share.
- Allow us to open windows to allow air flow (you may wish to bring and extra layer if it is a cooler day).
