Make a string of festive bunting with us on a Half Day workshop in the Crafty Sew & So Studio!

This is a brilliant class for beginners and beyond. 

You will start by cutting your bunting triangles from a selection of festive fabrics. You will sew them together, turn them through and create a set of bunting triangles with perfect points and neat finished edges. We'll then show you how to add binding to string them all together. 

Not feeling the Christmas vibe? You can choose alternative fabrics to make bunting for any occasion. 

As well as having lots of festive fun, you'll learn useful skills to enable you to make more bunting at home and for your next sewing projects. 

The workshop includes all your materials and teaching in a small group with an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly tutor. 

You have the choice to use our fantastic Janome and Brother workshop machines or bring your own machine. Please let us know in the comments at the checkout if you will bring your own. 

What will I need to bring?

• Your machine if you choose not to use our workshop machines – don’t forget the power cable and foot pedal!
• A notebook
• A camera or phone to take photos is handy

Everything else is provided including equipment and materials. 

What will we make in the class?

You will make a 2m long string of bunting, perfect to adorn your fireplace or hang up at the window. 

Learn All these essentials skills! 

• How to use a template to cut fabrics
• How to set up the sewing machine
• How to select stitches
• How to clip and trim then turn through the triangles to make perfect points!
• How to space and attach the triangle to the binding

Learn to sew with us in our beautiful studio in the heart of Leicester City Centre!

This is a great project for beginners and also for people who want to refresh their skills and confidence using a sewing machine. 

In this class you will learn to make a string of bunting in cotton fabrics.  You can choose from our wide range of fabrics - including Christmas designs - on the day.

You will learn how to

• cut out your flags using a template
• sew the flags using a straight stitch on a sewing machine
• trim the seam allowance to make the corners sharp
• turn and press your flags for a neat finish
• use bias binding to join your bunting flags. 

All fabrics and materials will be provided for this project.
