Is this course for me?

This course is for you if you want to build your confidence and skills using your overlocker.  It's definitely for you if you haven't opened the box your overlocker came in, and it's for you if you haven't got to grips with threading or changing the settings.

This course will take away all those fears and worries about using your overlocker and enable you to sew everything you've ever wanted on your machine.

What If I already know the basics?

There is so much else to learn!  This course not only covers the basics, we also work you through all the settings and advanced techniques, working with different fabrics and finishes to elevate your overlocking game.

We'll even talk you through the steps needed to take care of your overlocker.  Treat your overlocker to a spa day by cleaning it out and oiling the machine, keeping it running smoothly for years to come.

What will I need for this course?

Ideally you will have your overlocker to sew along with the video, but it's ok if you don't and would like to watch the videos before you treat yourself to an overlocker, or watch taking notes.

You would also find the following useful:

  • Your overlocker, manual and accessory kit.
  • Threads to match the threading guide on your machine.
  • Your downloadable worksheets
  • A notebook and pen
  • Fabric scraps to practice on.

For the Cowl Scarf Project you will need

  • 50cm of single jersey
  • A basic sewing kit with a large eyed needle
