In this 3 hour long tutored live online class you will learn the art of free-motion quilting.  This is one of our tutor Elizabeth’s favourite techniques!

She will show you how to master the skill and why she loves this versatile and fun way of quilting your projects.

What you will learn:

  • How to layer your fabrics
  • Quilting using the stippling technique and free shapes
  • How to make a sturdy quilted basket with loose lining and self fabric binding

You will need:

  • A sewing machine with "feed dog covers" or the ability to drop the feed dogs - please email us to ask for advice if you are not sure if your machine is suitable
  • A free-motion foot
  • You can use pins, but - if you have them - spray glue, fabric glue pen or bonda web are very useful to stick the fabric to the wadding before stitching
  • Some thread,
  • A marking pen, pencil or chalk,
  • Some sharp fabric scissors, basic sewing kit
  • Some quilting gloves would be useful too (we can send them out with you materials if you choose to buy some when you book onto this class)
