The Vintage Shirt Dress is an intermediate level sewing pattern. We recommend that you’ve made a few fitted garments before, and have experience with pleats and facings. If you’re fairly new to dressmaking the Betty Dress, also by Sew Over It, would be a great one to have a go at first – though if you’re feeling determined, as long as you take it step by step we think you can definitely tackle this pattern.
Fabric Suggestions
For the Vintage Shirt Dress we recommend choosing a light to medium weight woven fabric such as cotton, cotton lawn, seersucker, broderie anglaise, rayon, viscose, crepe or lightweight wool. You will also require a lightweight fusible interfacing for the collar and facings, as well as eight 16mm buttons.
Fabric Requirements
The Vintage Shirt Dress comes in UK sizes 8-20. See the chart for details on fabric requirements.
Like all our patterns, the sizes are nested to make it easier to grade between the sizes, depending on your measurements.
