Crafty Bloggers Club: Rudy's Cosy Jersey Dress
This weeks Crafty Bloggers Club post is from the lovely Rudy, you can find more of her makes on Instagram @roodlerunique and on her blog roodles-runique.blogspot.com
Hello again lovely sewing types! This time now the weather's got colder I decided to make a nice snuggly jumper.
I used the My Handmade Wardrobe pattern cosy Jersey in tunic length. I have made this dress before so I decided to size down from my previous one and I made the large. This fabric had more ease than my last one and the last one was huge on me.
I switched this pattern up a bit by using the fabric in both directions to make the panels obvious. The striped jersey has a gentle 4 way stretch, so it works well. I think it's super flattering across my boobs and very on trend with all the stripes on the high street at the moment. I also omitted the bottom band and the cuffs as I decided to roll the sleeves up and the dress length was already perfect for me.
The fabric I used was the lovely Crafty Sew and Sews navy striped Ponte which stretches in both directions allowing me to cut some pieces off the grain. It was a tough decision to decide which way each stripe should go but I think I've got the nail on the head!
This pattern is perfect for jumper dresses or just jumpers as the pieces come together super quickly and the bonus giant pockets are a big win for me!
I can see this being worn a lot this winter with tights and boots as it's comfy and warm perfect for layering!
