The Dressmakers Ball 2019
Oh what a night! We all had an amazing time at The Dressmakers Ball!
Last Friday we hosted The Dressmakers Ball at the fabulous City Rooms, Leicester.
Over 140 Dressmakers attended from across the U.K. All the outfits were absolutely stunning and it was wonderful to see everyone in their fabulous finery! Take a look at the dresses and their makers over on Instagram by following #thedressmakersball
Welcome to the Ball!
The evening began with a drinks reception and we welcomed guests to the drawing room to have photos taken in the photo booth with the amazingly talented Tara Lydon.

After catching up with sewing friends and making new ones, the dressmakers made their way up to the grand ballroom!
Dinner is served!
Our compere Lily welcomed everyone and introduced our charity of the year Coppafeel, a breast cancer charity close to our hearts. You can find out more about the charity HERE and more about our other fundraising event last year HERE.
Everyone remarked how beautiful the venue was as we sat down to a delicious meal of Cock au Vin, mushroom stroganoff, lasagne and sides followed by the most amazing chocolate torte and a mountain of cheese and crackers!
After Dinner, we were entertained by the University of Leicester Big Band playing a variety of modern and classic tunes in their unique big-band style! It wasn't long before everyone was up shaking their thing!
The Catwalk!
After a boogie, we welcomed our Dressmakers up to strut their stuff on the catwalk!
The awards panel who had the impossible task of choosing the winners of the Best Dressed Male, Best Accessory, Best New Dressmaker and Best Experienced Dressmaker. Our winners were delighted to have been selected.
Our Best New Dressmaker Samantha was Pretty in Pink (hand dyed tulle)
Pete was our Best Dressed Male in his fabulous handmade shirt, bow tie, waistcoat AND trousers!
The Prize Draw!
We rounded up the night with the grand prize draw, with prizes provided by our generous sponsors! We raised over £500 for Coppa feel and our winners were over the moon with their prizes!

We were delighted to have printed stationary provided by Net Printer used throughout the venue.
Sewing subscription box service Sew Hayley Jane sponsored the delicious menus.
