We’re so excited to be announcing the return of the Dressmakers Ball. Last held in 2019, the Dressmakers Ball will be the event of the year. The Dressmakers Ball is now in it's third year and has been a wonderful event , bringing dressmakers and sewers from all over the country together to celebrate our sewing community.
Originally created as we stood around the studio cutting table and moaned that we didn't have occasions to make and wear gowns. We created one!
The City Rooms, Leicester
The ball will be hosted at the City Rooms, Leicester, the Dressmakers Ball is in the heart of the textile industry. This gorgeous Georgian, Grade 1 listed building is the perfect back drop for an evening of dancing and chatting with other sewists.
Food, Fun and Dancing
The Dressmakers Ball is an evening event including dinner, a catwalk to show off our glorious gowns and outfits, and live music. Added extras include goodie bags for guests, charity prize draw and a special cocktail for the evening.
Dressmaking Awards for the Favourite Outfits
The Dressmakers Ball provides an opportunity for dressmakers us all to challenge ourselves with a special occasion make, dress to impress and party the night away. There will be awards given for best outfits, including ‘New Dressmaker’, ‘Experienced Dressmaker’, ‘Best Handmade Accessories’ and ‘Best Men’s Outfit’.
Joining in with the awards isn't mandatory, so if you are feeling shy, don't worry! But we would love you to show us what you have made and join in with the catwalk if you are willing.
