New Postage Rates
Because we think honesty is always the best policy, we’d like to share with you why we’ve changed our postage prices...
One of our key goals for 2021 and beyond is to become a sustainable and environmentally conscious business in all respects. We are now ONLY using paper or card packaging, which is fully recyclable. It is more expensive, but we believe protecting our environment for the future is something worth investing in. On very rare occasions we will need to pack a delicate item and in this case we will ONLY use shredded paper, or reused bubble wrap.
The Post Office raised their prices by approx. 4% overall on 1st January 2021. We agree that the postal workers, who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic, truly deserve acknowledgment for their efforts - helping to keep businesses like ours going - and we hope that this increase is passed on to them.
In the past, we have often paid more than the cost of postage applied to the order to allow us to process orders and get them out to you as quickly and efficiently as possible. We set standard postage rates and we covered the excess.
After reviewing the last 6 months online sales, we’ve decided to base our prices on the small parcel rate of £3.20 plus packaging, as so many of you are now buying lovely fabrics by the metre from us and this is the most common size parcel we are sending out.
Larger parcels still often cost more than the small parcel rate, but we still want to offer excellent value so we’re keeping the rate low at £3.50.
For this reason, we have also raised our free delivery cut off to £50. This is in-line with most of our indie-biz competitors too.
We are also keeping our lower cost postage rate for orders under the value of £1.75 to help you pick up the bits and pieces you might need to complete a project kit.
We hope you will understand and respect or reasons for raising the prices and our honestly in telling you why.
Our promise to you is that each order will always be picked, wrapped and packed with care and sent to you with joy :)
Happy Sewing!
