I've just spent the day at Blogtacular down in London. I'm actually writing this on the train home after a crazy busy, fun and interesting day. I'm exhausted and exhilarated, which is quite a nice feeling really. And I'm really inspired to build this blog and the business.

Blogtacular is a conference for creatives, small businesses and social media influencers ran by the fabulous Kat Moleswoth, of Housewife Confidential.

It's the fifth year of the conference, and I've wanted to go for the last couple, but the tickets are quite expensive, plus the cost of getting to London has meant I've been put off in years past. This year felt like a good year to invest the time and energy as Sarah and I have some really exciting plans for where we want to take Crafty Sew & So.

I spent a fun day on the Friday before Blogtacular visiting friends while I was down in London. I had lunch with the lovely Gabby of Gaberdashery, visited Hannah and Rosie at The New Craft House and met my school friend Elizabeth for dinner. I was very proud of myself successfully navigating my way around London on my own!

The conference was in central London, in a beautiful venue, and it was a fantastic feeling to be surrounded by like minded creative types with a real buzz around learning and building our businesses. The day was jam packed with workshops and seminars, focusing on brand identity, Instagram stories and writing blog posts. I found that all the ones I fancied were along a similar theme which felt like I had a good focus and some great takeaways from the day.

One of the best bits of the day was getting to meet and hang out with some other sewists!  There was lots of times between session to chat and take photos (and grab a much needed cup of tea!). I also got to meet some new friends from the sewing world!

They day was very full on, and there where lots of times I felt overwhelmed and in need of a break from all the busyness. I've found it to be very tiring and I look forward to a quite day at home tomorrow with some time to process and make a bit of an action plan to go forward with.

Overall, I've had a lovely day and feel quite elated and encouraged. If you're looking to build your independent business in the social media world or take your blog and build a business, I would happily recommend Blogtacular for the inspiration and the opportunity to network with people who will help shape your business going forward.
