Hi guys, with the new data protection regulations coming in to affect on the 25th May, I thought I would take the opportunity to let you know what we do with your data when you sign up for a workshop or put your email down for our newsletter.
I'm sorry, this is a bit of a wordy blog post, but I want to be really transparent about our data collection policy and keep you updated with our practices.
We only collect your data when you book in to a workshop, place an order with us in store or online, or sign up for our newsletter.
For workshops and online shopping, we collect your contact details, including address (if ordering a product), telephone number and email address so that we can ship out your items and contact you if we need to about any problems, delays or to confirm any query we have about your order.
If you signed up for our newsletter we only use this information to send you our weekly email and the occasional special offer email. We promise never to spam you, or to send you information that isn't related to Crafty Sew & So, sewing, workshops or sewing events we think you might like to hear about. We do not, and never will, share this information with a third party.
You have the right to unsubscribe at any time from our newsletter list - there is always a link at the bottom of each email you can follow.
Our website host, 'Shopify', collects data on visitors' locations (known as cookies) when they use our online shop, but we only ever see an overview of this and we're not able to identify individuals from the information they they show us. (For more about Shopify's preparations for the GDPR have a look at their 'help' page.)
