Me Made May - What The Team is Planning

Me Made May is an opportunity to celebrate your handmade clothes!

We've participated in Me Made May most years over the last decade, it's a fun challenge and you can make it your own by setting your own challenge, so it's something even very new sewists can join in with.

This year the Crafty Team are all setting their own challenges for the month -

Kim

I've made a lot of my own clothes over the last year and have ended up with a lot of scraps! So, I am going to go back to use them and make small items like knickers and hats – or to colour block a garment – so that I can use my “waste” materials, reduce my stash and prevent fabrics going to landfill -  and I’ll be able to wear something “Me Made” every day!

My Me Made May pledge is to take a good look at my me-made-wardrobe especially the garments I don’t wear a lot. I will look at how I could style some much-loved garments in new ways and I’m also hoping I’ll rediscover some forgotten makes. I want to look at some of the garments I don’t wear regularly to plan some coordinating styles so I can make outfits with them to help me wear them more.

Zareen

I have lots of handmade clothes in my wardrobe that I don't wear.  This year I'm going to give all those unloved clothes a second chance and try to wear them over the month of May.

For MMM I am pledging to work on some of the unfinished projects I've started but not managed to find time to finish (I can't be the only one this happens too).  I don't have a lot of time to sew at the moment, so I'm going to prioritise finishing some of my current projects and not be tempted by shiny new projects!

If you’re joining in with Me Made May and wearing makes in any fabrics bought from us or any of our Crafty Sew&So or My Handmade Wardrobe patterns, we’d love to see them! Include @craftysewandso in your post so we can!

Happy Me Made May everyone!
