Comfy, cosy and easy to wear, the funnel neck jumper will very quickly become a firm favourite for cosy layering in spring and autumn. Pair with skirts, dresses or jeans for a casual everyday look. Or partner with smarter trousers and skirts for handmade office wardrobe, it is a stylish and modern take on a cosy layering staple!
This modern cover-up features a short funnel neck, boxy straight cut body and faced hemline with side splits. The sleeves are gently gathered into a long cuff. Make in the modern cropped length which looks fab paired with high waisted jeans or to keep cosy and stylish, opt for the regular length which sits just below the high hip.
I always struggle to know what to wear with skirts and dresses in the winter. This boxy cropped jumper style can be teamed with our wrap skirt for an instantly cool outfit combo. We've included 2 lengths in this pattern, a modern cropped version, ideal for wearing with fitted waist styles, and a reguar length which sits just above the hip, for a more casual cover-up to wear with your comfiest jeans or joggers.

Recommended fabrics:
Any stable stretch knit fabric including heavy weight true knit, sweat, French terry, jacquard jersey, and ponti roma. We recommend a stable stretch knit fabric with approx. 20 – 50% horrizontal stretch for this pattern. If you’re new to sewing with stretch fabrics, you’ll find working with a stable knits in this project will boost your confidence.
Other materials and equipment:
Ballpoint needle for knitted/jersey fabrics, stretch jersey or lightweight, non-woven fusible interfacing (approx 25cm x 90cm), matching thread
Sizes/measurements:
It is vitally important, when sewing your own clothes, to take accurate measurements of your body, and not rely on the sizing you expect to buy on the high street. For this pattern we have opted to use sizing XS-XXL, which approximately covers UK sizes 8-24. Measure yourself first to choose the right size for you!
