Beginner- Cotton lawn, crepe, lightweight linen, non-stretch lace, light weight denim, baby corduroy,

Improvers- Chiffon, silk, viscose, medium weight jersey, sequins!

A small hook and eye, or a small 5mm-1cm button and 10-5cm loop of elastic or ribbon, 50cm light to medium weight fusible interfacing, 1m bias binding for long sleeve.

It is vitally important, when sewing your own clothes, to take accurate measurements of your body, and not rely on the sizing you expect to buy on the high street. This is why we’ve switch out the usual sizes (eg, 8-22) for our own system of numbers 1-8. You have to measure yourself to pick your size!
