Book into this workshop to discover the historical craft of Dorset Button making. Dating back to the early 1400's, Dorset buttons are made of thread, yarn, and fabric - and are easily customisable to blend in or stand out on your garments! This is the perfect craft to compliment dressmaking, and is ideal for taking on train, planes, and holidays because of it's small size and limited equipment.
About the instructor:
Abi learned this heritage craft from Anna McDowell, who wrote the booklet you'll be given in this workshop. She started making these buttons as her washing machine kept eating plastic buttons - and these buttons are much more flexible. After making a few, she was hooked!
(This workshop is only for attendees of Crafty Sewing Camp. If you haven't yet got your ticket, please book in here!)
