My Handmade Wardrobe My Handmade Wardrobe Homebody Hoodie Paper Pattern

Imagine waking up and choosing a unique garment from a wardrobe full of your own creations. With My Handmade Wardrobe Patterns, you can create comfortable and stylish everyday essentials to get you excited about getting dressed every single day!

The Homebody Hoodie is the perfect companion to the Homebody Joggers so you can sew yourself the ultimate sportswear set (or loungewear, let's be fair!)

The Hoodie features an open ended zip fastening, with a beautiful bound finish, a roomy hood, complete with drawstring, a relaxed drop shoulder sleeve with fitted cuff, a staggered split detail hem and generous inseam pockets.  There are plenty of details for experienced sewers to enjoy sewing as well as newer sewers, who'll learn lots of new skills throughout this make.

As with all MHW sewing patterns, on our blog you will find lots of resources to help you sew your patterns.  Our aim is to support all sewists as they learn, so all our content is jargon free and supported by extra resources.

The Homebody Hoodie can be made in sizes XS to XXL, up to a 55" hip

  • Sarah (in pink) wears a size M
  • Carly (in blue) wears a size XS
  • More size photos will be added shortly

Recommended Fabrics

We recommend a stable stretch fabric with approx. 20-50% 2 way stretch for this pattern. Suitable fabrics include: Sweatshirt, ponte roma, fleece, velour and French terry.

An elastane mix fabric will prevent your hoodie from going baggy during wear.

Why not take a look at our great range of jersey fabrics for this pattern.

Fabric 150cm / 60" wide:

  • For main body stable knit fabric 175cm
  • For the hood lining and pocket bags: Single jersey 50cm

Sharp fabric scissors, ballpoint jersey needle, sewing machine with a stretch stitch or narrow zigzag stitch, sharp pins, basic sewing tools.

Useful to have to hand: Pattern weights, overlocker, coverstitch machine

It is vitally important, when sewing your own clothes, to take accurate measurements of your body, and not rely on the sizing you expect to buy on the high street. For this pattern we have opted to use sizing XS-XXL, which approximately covers UK sizes 8-24. Measure yourself first to choose the right size for you!
